Download MSMS
The current release is MSMS 2.6.2 (November 2026). It fixes crashes on large or unusual inputs, merges duplicate atoms instead of stopping, and runs -all_components in parallel. For inputs that 2.6.1 handled, the output is unchanged. See the release notes.
MSMS is free for non-commercial use; commercial use needs a license (see License).

Version 2.6.2 is available for Linux only so far. The macOS and Windows downloads are still version 2.6.1, without the 2.6.2 fixes.
The Linux tar file contains two binaries. msms.x86_64Linux2.2.6.2.staticgcc runs on any 64-bit x86 Linux; msms.x86_64Linux2.2.6.2 needs glibc 2.34 or later, libtirpc and libgomp.
The files are on GitHub, in the msms-2.6.2 and msms-2.6.1 releases. The 2.6.1 release also has the previous Linux version. See the Documentation for how to run msms.
